- Association
of American Geographers (AAG)
A scientific and educational society founded in 1904 with over 9,000
members. The AAG holds annual meetings and regional events and publishes
a newsletter, journals, and books. The association supports and recognizes
its members through its grants and awards programs.
- American
Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)
A scientific association serving over 7,000 professional members around
the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding
of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry,
remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting
technologies.
- Conference
of Latin Americanist Geographers (CLAG)
CLAG was the first organization of specialists in the Association of
American Geographers to establish, in 1970, its own independent structure
and membership. This move prompted a succession of AAG specialty groups
to form, including the Latin American Specialty Group (LASG). The Conference
of Latin Americanist Geographers was organized to foster geographic
education and research on Latin America.

Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
The American Association for the Advancement of Science, ”Triple
A-S” (AAAS), is an international non-profit organization dedicated
to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader,
spokesperson and professional association. In addition to organizing
membership activities, AAAS publishes the journal Science, as well as
many scientific newsletters, books and reports, and spearheads programs
that raise the bar of understanding for science worldwide.

AGU is a worldwide scientific community that advances, through unselfish
cooperation in research,
the understanding of Earth and space for the benefit of humanity.

Meteorological Society (AMS)
The American Meteorological Society promotes the development and dissemination
of information and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic
and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications.
- Latin
American Studies Association (LASA)
LASA's mission is to foster intellectual discussion, research, and teaching
on Latin America, the Caribbean, and its people throughout the Americas,
promote the interests of its diverse membership, and encourage civic
engagement through network building and public debate.
- Gamma
Theta Upsilon (GTU)
Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) is an international honor society in geography.
Gamma Theta Upsilon was founded in 1928 and became a national organization
in 1931. Members of GTU have met academic requirements and share a background
and interest in geography. GTU chapter activities support geography
knowledge and awareness.

Academy of Science, Arts, & Letters
The Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters is a regional professional
organization that facilitates scholarly exchange through annual meetings
and a quarterly journal of outstanding papers and news about research
at Michigan colleges and universities.
